IIEC is a non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in 1984 to promote the adoption of energy-efficient technologies and practices in developing countries. IIEC is an affiliate of the Civil Engineering Research Foundation (CERF) and maintains offices in Washington DC, London, Bangkok, Manila, Beijing, Mumbai and Johannesburg.

The Export Council for Energy Efficiency (ECEE) was formed in 1994 to promote the use of energy efficient products, services and technologies worldwide. ECEE is composed of five of the United States’ leading energy efficiency organizations:

• Alliance to Save Energy
• International Institute for Energy Conservation
• National Association of Energy Services Companies
• National Association of State Energy Officials
• Solar Energy Research and Education Foundation

The Committee on Energy Efficiency Commerce and Trade (COEECT) is a federal interagency committee established in 1993 to coordinate the U.S. Government’s activities related to energy efficiency exports. COEECT’s member agencies are the Departments of Energy, Commerce, Defense, Interior, State and Treasury. Other member agencies include the Agency for International Development, the Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Export-Import Bank, the General Services Administration, Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, Small Business Administration, Trade and Development Agency, and the U.S. Information Agency.
