EcoLinks Partner Search
The following organizations have project concepts already screened for a Challenge Grant and are looking for US partners. Interested companies should contact ECEE by August 10, 1999.

  • The Municipality of Stara Zogora, is a fairly large city located in the central-eastern part of Bulgaria, is currently looking for a US partner to help them on an EcoLinks Challenge Grant project that will develop municipal policy for energy efficiency. Their partner would be responsible for conducting an energy audit and a feasibility study that would help to determine the course of policy and action taken in the city.
  • The Municipality of Topusko in Croatia is looking for a US consulting firm to work with them on an EcoLinks Challenge Grant Project dealing with the construction of greenhouse facilities heated by geo-thermal water. The US partner must help them to prepare a feasibility study as well as research potential investors. A potential partner also must have experience in establishing public-private partnerships, familiarity with development of business plans for agricultural enterprises, technical expertise suitable for the development of such a greenhouse, and access to potential investors
  • The Municipality of Lovas, a small agro-industrial municipality in Eastern Croatia, is looking for a US partner with energy efficient residential construction experience. The EcoLinks Challenge Grant proposal will focus on a feasibility study of the most energy and cost effective technologies and the construction of a model to demonstrate these innovative methods.
  • SC Oltchim SA, one of the largest chemical plants in Romania, is looking for a US partner, a consulting company or a similar organization, to work together on a Challenge Grant application. If awarded, the grant will fund an energy audit for the chemical plant and a feasibility study to assess different options for energy savings.
  • The Local Government of Beius Town in Romania, responsible for the implementation of environmental regulations, and local development activities, is looking for a US partner, a business or an association of busibnesses that could assist them in applying for a Challenge Grant. If awarded, the grant will fund a project on the use of geothermal energy in district heating, including the elaboration of a feasibility study to assess the most optimal alternative. The project aims at reducing the energy consumption while better using the natural resources of the city, an existing geothermal reservoir.
  • Velebit Ltd., a Croatian joint stock textile company established in 1920, is looking for a US partner to work with them on EcoLinks Challenge grant application. If awarded, the Challenge Grant will fund the implementation of cleaner production and energy efficiency measures to reduce the consumption of dyes and adjuvant in dying and bleaching processes as well as energy use. The desired US partner, a consulting company or a similar organization must have the necessary expertise to assist them in assessing the most feasible options available for this purpose.

India ESCO Joint Venture
Consulting Engineers Company, an Indian ESCO, is interested in a joint venture with a US company to carryout energy efficiency projects in India and surrounding countries.

Russia Transformers
The Birobidzhan Power Transformer plant is the only producer of electric transformers in Eastern Russia. The company designs and manufactures more than 60 types of transformers as well as autonomous hot water supply systems. The company seeks a foreign partner capable to conduct evaluation of its industrial facilities and participate in reorganizations of the technologies so that the company’s finished products could obtain international certificates.

Russia Construction Materials
Sakoneftegas wishes to buy construction materials from a US company for construction of new western-type hotel facilities.
