Financing Corner: USAID Development Credit Authority (DCA)
USAID will offer $250 million over five years in credit assistance, in the form of direct loans or loan guarantees, for development purposes, with a focus towards mitigating climate change. DCA will be offered in countries where USAID has an on-the-ground presence and where the commercial institutions are sufficiently advanced to permit the use of credit as a tool for encouraging those countries to increasingly assume the cost of financing development themselves. DCA is intended primarily for use by non-sovereign borrowers in the host country. For more details, contact ECEE.

This business seminar, scheduled for January 28-29 in Prague, Czech Republic, will give financial experts, bank officers, and senior government officials from the region the opportunity to review new financing mechanisms and will provide a forum for soliciting participation in new efforts to expand commercial sector finance in the emerging markets in central and eastern Europe.
