Energy Efficiency Retrofits Opportunities in Russia Business Briefing

The US Trade & Development Agency and the World Bank are sponsoring a briefing that will focus on the export opportunities arising from the current $300 million World Bank loan for energy efficiency retrofits in municipal apartment buildings. Opportunities include $100 million in metering equipment exports and $194 million in energy efficient retrofit exports for at least 300 apartment buildings. The projects (in six Russian cities) include technical services, civic works & equipment opportunities and the briefing will provide a chance to meet one-on-one with key decision-makers.

Electric Technology Workshop in Paris, France on October 5 – 6, 1998

The Edison Electric Institute, co-sponsor of the workshop, is looking for speakers to discuss projects in the developing world that solved problems (used less energy and provided environmental benefits) in the commercial and industrial sectors. The technology used in the project must run on electricity. EEI is subsidizing coach airfare and one night's hotel stay. The audience is usually trade ministers, ministry staff, and other interested international entities.

Caribbean Hotel Sector Energy Efficiency Seminars

The Caribbean Action for Sustainable Tourism (CAST) Group holds training seminars in the Caribbean for hoteliers and facility managers to learn about energy efficiency, including technologies such as energy management systems, lighting, air conditioning, and refrigeration. To learn more about the seminars or to be listed as a supplier of environmentally sound technology, contact ECEE.

China ESCO Partner

The Chinese Energy Conservation Investment Corporation (CECIC) wishes to form a joint venture in China with a U.S. ESCO to develop and implement energy efficiency projects.

Brazil ESCO Partner

Natron, a Brazilian consulting and engineering company, is interested in teaming up with a US ESCO to work on industrial energy efficiency projects in Brazil.

Ukraine Pipeline Turbine Compressor Unit Refurbishment

The US Department of Energy is working with Ukrainian oil and gas sector representatives to structure a $400 million project to refurbish turbines and compressor units on Ukraine’s pipelines. If you would like to participate or make suggestions for the feasibility study, please contact ECEE.

Reimoo Sons Ltd, a Sri-Lankan import/export company, is interested in importing electric fans and other home appliances.

Armenia Air Freezers

Trade Point Armenia needs to import air freezers capable of supporting at least -20° C for a production facility of about 2000 tons of constant freezing.

An Australian company is seeking products for the hydroponics industry such as: air pumps, air stones, submersible pumps, ballasts for high pressure sodium bulbs, room humidifiers, digital plug-in time switches, etc.
