Reverse Trade Mission from China visits Washington, DC

ECEE invites US companies to meet with a delegation from the Chinese Energy Conservation Investment Corporation (CECIC) in Washington, DC on March 25, 1998. Thailand Energy Efficient Boilers, Chillers, Controls, and Industrial Power

B. Grimm Industrial & Commercial Services Ltd. is interested in representing US technologies and/or products for energy efficient electrical and mechanical systems, including Energy Efficient Boilers/Heating Systems, Energy Efficient Chillers/Thermal Energy Storage Systems, Process Controls, and Industrial Power. Interested companies should reply by March 15, 1998.

California Energy Commission Contracts

The California Energy Commission is seeking bidders to provide engineering and technical assistance services to the Energy Technology Export Program to perform preliminary site evaluations and assessments for project development and follow-up activities for the Energy Commission and California energy technology companies in the areas of: cogeneration power systems, energy efficiency and DSM, and small power generation systems. SOQs must be submitted by April 2, 1998.

Efficiency Windows in Ukraine and Russia

Join the US Department of Energy at seminars on energy efficient windows in Ukraine and Russia May 17 - 18, 1998 and May 19 - 23, 1998. During both seminars, US companies will have the chance to establish business and government contacts and get a first-hand view of the Ukrainian and Russian standards, building regulations, and rules for certification.

Energy Efficiency in Brazil

PROCEL (the Brazilian National Program to Combat the Waste of Electricity) is hosting a conference/exhibition in Rio de Janeiro from October 18 - 22, 1998 on regional energy efficiency issues and opportunities. ECEE may also arrange a focused mission seminar around the conference, pending US company interest. To submit a paper or indicate interest in the significant Brazilian market, please contact ECEE.

Energy Efficiency Business Week ‘98 in the Czech Republic

US energy efficiency companies are invited to participate in the Sixth International Conference and Exhibition: Energy Efficiency Business Week ‘98 to be held in Prague from October 6 - 8, 1998. The Conference, organized by the Czech Energy Efficiency Center, will focus on: liberalization of energy markets and energy savings; international cooperation in the field of energy efficiency; energy services and energy performance contracting; energy efficiency in buildings; and much more.

Thai Industrial Energy Conservation Financing: Call for ESCOs

During the recent International Roundtable on Energy Efficiency Financing, Andrew Yim of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) gave a presentation on Thailand’s Demand-Side Management Plan and associated Energy Service Company Program in the industrial sector. EGAT intends to work with private sector ESCOs in the industrial sector by utilizing the Energy Conservation Fund to provide interest-free loans for energy efficiency improvement projects in the industrial sector. Despite the recent devaluations, the Energy Conservation Fund is still valued at approximately $300 million (USD). ECEE may lead a focused mission seminar to Thailand, pending company interest.
