Brazil ESCO workshop ECEE member National Association of Energy Service Companies (NAESCO) will lead an ESCO workshop the week of July 24, 2000 to Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The workshop will be coordinated with the Brazilian ESCO Association (ABESCO) and will include Brazilian industry federations, financial institutions, policy makers, and Procell (the energy efficiency division of Electrobras, the national utility holding company). Boilers for Ukraine Dyzelnyj Zavod, specializing in boiler manufacturing, plans to expand business to include manufacturing high-quality boilers and their distribution in Ukraine. The company seeks to purchase on leasing terms a production line for manufacturing high-quality, automated boilers of approximately 30Kwt capacity, using modern US technology. Partnership Opportunities: Oil, Gas and Construction Komsomolskenergozhilstroy (KEZ), a construction firm in the Russian Far East (RFE), is searching for American firms in electrical and HVAC contracting, plumbing, water well drilling interested in pursuing oil and gas projects in the RFE or the Sakhalin Islands. Finance: IFCs REEF Fund Capitalized The first international private equity fund investing only in renewable energy and energy efficiency projects has been set up by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), together with several private and public sector groups. The US$100 million fund, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund will stimulate investment in green technologies globally. Natural Gas High Pressure Pipeline in Azerbaijan Republic The project involves the laying of a new pipeline with a new Gas Compressor Station in Karadakh with a daily flow rate of 10 million cubic meters of natural gas. Azergaz needs services of a qualified company for the implementation of contracting work including engineering, equipment and service supply, transportation, construction and start-up. APEC Green Buildings Workshop in Taipei A workshop to focus on the application of green building technologies and innovative project delivery methodologies in the Asia Pacific region is planned by APECs Expert Group on Energy Efficiency and Conservation for October 16-18, 2000. It provides an opportunity for industry experts with hard data for government regulators responsible for program design and delivery of efficient commercial buildings. USTDA Consultant Database The U.S. Trade and Development Agency is launching a new consultant database for small businesses, on its website to better identify technical experts qualified in the areas of transportation, energy, health, water & environment, telecommunications, and/or project financing for industrial and infrastructure projects in developing and middle-income countries. Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in the Americas REIA2000 conference and expo will take place on December 4, 2000 at the Organization of American States (OAS) and continue in conjunction with the Village Power Workshop at the World Bank from December 5-7, 2000. Environment and Energy Conference: Business Strategies for Sustainable Economic Growth, November 27-28, 2000 in Toronto, Ontario at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel The two-day event will emphasize business competitiveness and the environment, the digital economy, policy instruments across borders, and special sessions that will showcase innovative clean energy technologies in the Great Lakes Region. Efficiency and Sustainability: Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Buildings, August 20-25, 2000, Asilomar Conference Center, Pacific Grove, California Organized by the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy, the 2000 conference will address a broad array of subjects such as energy and information technologies, market transformation, design and performance of buildings, deregulation of the utility industry and the role of ESCOs, energy policies, and integration of renewable technologies in buildings. Business and Investment Forum for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in Asia Pacific (RE/EE 2000), September 4-7, 2000, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia The conference will provide companies and investors with the opportunity to explore business opportunities in RE&EE projects in the Asia Pacific region (48 countries), and establish business networks with decision makers, investors and technology suppliers of RE&EE projects. U.S. Eco-Energy 2000 Exhibition and Seminar, October 12 13, 2000, U.S. Trade Center, Tokyo, Japan This two-day exhibition will provide U.S. companies and their subsidiaries or representatives with the opportunity to display their renewable energy, on-site power generation and energy-saving products and technology and deliver a technical presentation to a qualified trade audience.
