Poland Mission Seminar
ECEE member Alliance to Save Energy is working with the National Energy Conservation Agency in Poland (NAPE) to hold an education energy efficiency seminar for municipal building managers in northern Poland in late February/early March. Energy efficiency companies interested in participating as educational speakers should contact ECEE.

Romania District Heating
RAGCL Pascani intends to use the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development towards the cost of the Thermal Energy Conservation Project. They invite tenders for:

  • Pre-insulated steel pipes for distribution of secondary heating agent and domestic hot water
  • Equipment for 3 heat generation plants (heat only boilers, burners, pumps, heat exchangers, valves, control and data processing equipment and associated services)
  • Meters for final consumers and heat generation plants.

Contact ECEE for more information, tenders are due by February 29, 2000.

Malaysia Industrial Energy Efficiency
There is an opportunity for U.S. firms to get involved in a Government of Malaysia and UN-funded (US$20 million) energy efficiency project in Malaysia. Energy efficiency related companies and experts are needed to help implement the project together with a local research organization called Pusat Tenaga Malaysia (Malaysia Energy Center). Contact ECEE for more information, the Malaysian Government has a final pre-bidding deadline of January 31, 2000.

Russia Construction Materials
KDVO, a wholesaler of construction materials, is seeking US partners interested in marketing construction technologies in the Russian Far East. Possible cooperation forms include distributorship, representation, and/or franchising.

Lao Transformers
The Lao People’s Democratic Republic has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank towards the cost of the Power Transmission and Distribution Project. They invite bids for the supply, delivery and installation of: Distribution transformers (50 – 500 KVA with a total of 43 units and 7 spare units) and step voltage regulators (21/22 KV, 10 MVA). Bids are due February 15, 2000.

Brazil Cogeneration Briefing
The Technology Cooperation Agreement Pilot Project is hosting a briefing on the emerging Brazilian market for cogeneration, featuring the general director of the Brazilian National Institute of Energy Efficiency and other energy experts, February 3, 2000 in Washington, DC.

Ukraine Energy Efficiency Guide 
The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory has recently released An Energy Efficiency Guide for Plant Managers in Ukraine, a guide designed to help manufacturers and project developers improve the efficiency of industrial plans which may also be used as a general reference on financing energy projects in the region.

Hungary, Poland, Romania Market Assessments On-Line!
